An Overview on Double Girder EOT Crane and Similar Machineries
An electric overhead travelling (EOT) crane is the most commonly used machine for manufacturing or maintenance applications. Some applications of EOT cranes are in the metal industry, infrastructure, power plants, cement, fabrication, automobile industry, engineering, space research and paper mills. As the name suggests, Single girder EOT crane consists of a single key girder, a hoist for lifting, with an electric trolley and two end carriages which move on two parallel rails. The hoist is designed in a compact way to give more lift. The cost of a single girder EOT crane is less than that of a double girder EOT crane and can be modified for use at dangerous sites as well. The load capacity of this crane can go up to 10 tonnes.
Double girder EOT crane are mostly used for transporting heavy loads by hoisting, cross travels and long travels. Like the single girder EOT cranes, a double girder EOT crane consists of two end carriages, ridge girders, a platform, crab, crane travelling mechanism, and electrical equipment. Since the hook can be pulled up between the two girders, it offers a hook lift that is higher than a single girder EOT crane. It is designed in a compact way making it easy for customers to use it. Some cranes are even provided with a maintenance platform on the crane, thereby making it easier to repair it and saving time. It can also exceed the load capacity of 10 tonnes. It can also function at high speeds. It is usually used in perilous areas and finds its application in fabrication shop, nuclear plants, automobile, steel, cement and engineering industries.
